چکیده مقاله:
Background and aims: Toxoplasmosis is a very common disease in the world. Two types of acquiredtoxoplasmosis have been detected. In the chronic toxoplasmosis, the abnormality of tissue functionis little but, in acute toxoplasmosis, function of RES system becomes interrupted. The assessment oftoxoplasma antibody with tissue enzymes in this stage is very important. Furthermore, serum ferritinin some conditions became high in acute phase of infectious disease. Methods: This study was based on comparative abundance study. Materials consisted of 980 serumand amniotic fluid samples collected from human blood with high level of IgG antibody againstToxoplasma gondii in Rajaie center, Tehran, Iran. The standard test was ELISA assay to detect theseantibodies and the main test was measurement of liver transaminases (SGOT, SGPT) bilirubin andferritin to evaluate acute toxoplasmosis. Data analysis was done by SPSS version 18.0. This study wasdone during March to June, 2017.Results: Results showed that in some patients with high level of IgG AVIDITY antibody against T. gondiithe level of liver transaminases, serum bilirubin and ferritin became increased. For example in 120patients with acute toxoplasmosis the mean serum levels of SGOT were 108 IU/L and in 80 patientsthe mean serum bilirubin were about 5 mg/dL.Conclusion: In acute congenital toxoplasmosis, the evaluation of IgG AVIDITY was first step and thenthe measurement of biochemical factors such as serum transaminases, serum Bilirubin and serumFerritin were important.

Background: Toxoplasmosis is a parasitic disease which may cause some laboratory symptoms in infected individuals. One of the main ways to transmit this organism is placenta to fetus pathway. If this transmission occur in the third month of pregnancy the abortion, central nerve system and ocular disorders will happen. Because of this issue, precise techniques such as ELISA & ELISA Avidity f...
متن کاملSeroprevalence of Toxoplasma gondii infection among pregnant women in Cameroon
Toxoplasmosis is caused by an intracellular protozoan, Toxoplasma gondii, which has a wide geographical distribution. The congenital form results in a gestational form that can present a temporary parasiteamia that will infect the fetus. For this reason early diagnosis in pregnancy is highly desirable, allowing prompt intervention in cases of infection. The aim of this study was to determine th...
متن کاملComparison of Toxoplasma gondii IgG avidity Architect and Vidas assays with the estimated date of infection in pregnant women
A maternal Toxoplasma gondii infection during pregnancy is a risk for congenital infection through maternal-fetal transplacental transmission. Estimation of the date of infection is of the utmost importance for management and treatment recommendations. In this setting, IgG avidity has been shown to be useful as high avidity rules out an infection dating less than 4 months. The estimated date of...

Background: Toxoplasmosis is well known as an important infection in pregnant women. Although many serologic methods are available, diagnosis of early Toxoplasmosis may be extremely difficult. Objective: To detect the Toxoplasma IgG antibodies developed at the early stage of infection in pregnant women. Methods: 225 pregnant women, who were in the 2nd to 4th month of their pregnancy, enrolled i...
